nOva stands for ‘emergency room for artists’. They are rehearsal
rooms belonging to art centre nOna in Mechelen. It used to be a printing
establishment. A few years ago these rooms were renovated and painted in
vibrant colours by architects dmva (David Driesen en Tom Verschueren), for
which they received many awards: the Belgian Architecture Award and the
Lensvelt Interior Architecture prize. In the future, nOva will be part of
the (re)new(ed) nOna2site, involving the same architects. | |||||||||
